The Kazakhstan Society of Hematology Receives National Accreditation

The Republican Public Association “Kazakhstan Society of Hematology” (KSH) has successfully completed accreditation as a professional medical association operating in the field of healthcare.

What this means. Accredited professional medical association status establishes the Society’s formal role within the healthcare system. In particular, accreditation provides the Society with:

• the right to participate in the development, expert review and revision of clinical protocols in hematology, as well as to initiate the development of protocols for specific diseases;
• participation in working groups and expert councils of the Ministry of Healthcare, as well as in the development of professional standards and discussion of healthcare regulations;
• the ability to organize educational activities awarding Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits;
• greater standing for the Society’s expert opinions when substantiating patient access to diagnostic procedures and medicines within the Guaranteed Volume of Free Medical Care, Compulsory Social Health Insurance and the national formulary;
• participation in independent expert assessment of the quality of medical care and professional support for physicians in complex and disputed cases;
• an institutional framework for establishing a national registry of hematological diseases;
• strengthened international cooperation with professional societies, including the EHA, as well as access to government-funded social projects and grants.

For patients, this means further alignment of diagnostic and treatment standards with international best practices. For healthcare professionals, it means stronger professional expertise and greater protection of their professional interests.

Accreditation marks a new stage in the Society’s institutional development and coincides with the launch of its Strategic Development Plan for 2027–2031. Key priorities include revising clinical protocols approaching the end of their validity period, developing disease-specific working groups, and establishing a national registry of hematological diseases.
